Previous Meetings
Saturday 17th December - Our annual Christmas breakup at Rushworth Street Picnic area was attended by
Federal Member Luke Howarth, State member Tracy Davies and Councillor Amanda Cooper. Bushies and
visitors enjoyed the snacks provided by members. Tracy and Amanda provided prizes which were awarded
on a draw to Dianne and Glen.
Saturday 19th November - We watered all the plants wish we planted hast month. (our members have visited
the park to water them several times in the last month) We also removed several vines which were damaging
their host trees.
Saturday 17th October - we planted 100 trees and shrubs around the park in various locations. Some of the
trees were Koala Friendly trees. All trees were protected with the green tree protectors
Saturday 17th September - Jenny Leask from Brisbane City Council visited us and discussed the supply of
shrubs and trees and told us about the tree protectors. Jenny will arrange a supply in time for the October
meeting
Saturday 20th August - We worker on weed removal and Mulch Spreading
Saturday 16th July - Our usual monthly meeting - we worked on the Shed Bed, spreading mulch. Diane and
Russell worked on another bed, cleaning up an old Mulch pile. John chopped up a fallen trees, returning the
timber into one of the beds for additional mulch, We had another visit from out friendly Kookaburra
Wednesday 13th July - Council has installed a new tap neat the 20 Year rock in the Railway bed.- See What’s

Saturday 18th June - Mulch Spreading on the ‘St Paul’s’ garden bed which had been attacked by Bush
Turkeys. Read more in ‘What’s Happening’
At our June meeting we also said welcome to new Bushie Cherrie-Kee Krautz who has been been working
during the week on another bed which now looks excellent See also “New Boat Ramp in ‘What’s Happening’.
During the meeting a friendly Kookaburra arrived on a nearby branch to keep his eye on the mulch pile, which
often provides a food supply of witichety grubs. We found a few and threw them on the ground next the
Kookaburra. The first few were taken bu those pesky swooping butcher birds but after then ‘Kookie” was able
to finish up a delicious breakfast.
Saturday 19th May 2016 - Clearing of weeds and vines from the St Paul’s bed.
During May several of our members visited the reserve at other times during the month to water the newer
plants. This was needed because of the prolonged hot and dry weather.
